Lunch at Lake Superior Elementary School
During the week all three shifts spent time at the Lake Superior Elementary school. During fire prevention week the Ashland Fire Department teaches the Kindergarten, Second, and Fifth grade classes about fire hazards in the home and ways to keep safe. This year department members spent their lunch time with the First, Third, and Fourth grade classes. Each shift spent time during recess playing games as well as giving the kids a chance to see the inside of the engine and ambulances. The department members were then invited inside to eat lunch with the different grades. The Ashland Fire Department would like to thank the staff at Lake Superior Elementary for allowing us this opportunity.

The Ashland Fire Fighters annual toy drive was a huge success. Thank you to all the volunteers, local businesses, and citizens of the area who helped with this years toy drive. Thanks to the donations of toys and monetary gifts the Ashland Fire department was able to provide toys for 670 children in Ashland and Bayfield Counties. The toy drive provided toys for 193 families and 399 children in Ashland County and 122 families and 271 children in Bayfield County.
